statistics.quantiles()
statistics.quantiles() is a Python function in the Statistics Module category. Returns cut points dividing data into n continuous intervals with equal probability. The syntax is statistics.quantiles(data, *, n=4, method="exclusive"). Parameters: data, n (intervals), method. Returns: List of cut points. A typical example: statistics.quantiles([1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9], n=4) # Quartiles. A close sibling is statistics.mean(), which returns the arithmetic mean (average) of numeric data. A close sibling is statistics.median(), which returns the median (middle value) of numeric data. A close sibling is statistics.median_low(), which returns the low median of numeric data (for when there are an even number of values).
