Python Hashlib Module
Secure hash and message digest algorithms — MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, BLAKE2. This category documents 11 Python hashlib module entries, and each page gives you the full syntax, the parameter list, the return value, and a runnable example. The entries include: hashlib.md5(), hashlib.sha1(), hashlib.sha256(), hashlib.sha512(), hashlib.sha3_256(), hashlib.blake2b(), hashlib.pbkdf2_hmac(), hash.update(), hash.digest(), hash.hexdigest(), hash.copy(). hashlib.md5() creates an MD5 hash object for the given data. hashlib.sha1() creates a SHA-1 hash object (deprecated for security use). hashlib.sha256() creates a SHA-256 hash object — widely used for secure hashing. hashlib.sha512() creates a SHA-512 hash object with larger digest size (512 bits). hashlib.sha3_256() creates a SHA-3 (Keccak) 256-bit hash object. For a structured walkthrough of the whole topic, read the Hashlib Module guide.
